Stylish, and green

Dressing with a conscious is getting easier but do you know where to go? Well worry not, each month I am going to keep you up to date with my exciting finds.

Here are a few of my favourites to get you started

The LBD, a must have for any stylish woman

Check out these killer heels by Stella McCartney. She has also launched her Eco-collection now showing at her Burton St store and in Harvey Nichols

Make it count

You need some new clothes but the money tree is looking a bit bare. Make your purchases count and get maximum returns for your money by choosing pieces that are high in quality, versatility and of course style. These will be the foundation for your look, so shop smart girls.

• Youth enhancing necklines – V necks all the way

• Quality materials - such as cashmere or wool mix (check the cleaning guidelines)

• Keep it simple – go for solid colours so you can mix and match again and again

• Vertical seams and good tailoring – classic and very slimming

Trend alert

Say hello to colour and get ready to stand out in a crowd. The coming season’s fashions are bold and bright. Look out for shift dresses in fuschia or electic blue, and strong cuts and shapes using high shine fabric.

If wearing bright colours from head to toe is too much for you then here are a few tips to break you in gently

• Let your shoes do the talking – a coloured shoe will brighten up any outfit

• Wrap me up baby - a bright scarf tied or pinned with a brooch will do the trick

• Knickers – well at least you will know your wearing them

Style Q&A

Anonymous asks

What is the best skirt length? I have tried on several over the years but am not sure which is best for me?

Aimee answers

The ultimate trick to choosing your perfect skirt length is to stand in front of the mirror holding a piece of fabric entirely covering your legs. Raise the fabric slowly and note the lengths at which your legs are shown off to their best advantage. Do this while wearing shoes with different height heels to see which looks best.

Never wear a skirt that ends at the middle of the knee, no matter what your leg shape. Just below with heels and just above with flats is always a safe bet.
